Culver City, CA – October 11, 2018 -- Sony Pictures Television (SPT) announced today that it has secured international distribution rights outside of the US for thriller anthology series Into The Dark from independent studio Blumhouse Television (Sharp Objects, The Purge).
From the critically acclaimed production company behind Get Out and Insidious, Blumhouse Television’s Into The Dark is the first ever anthology series spanning a collection of twelve self-contained feature-length episodes (80-90 minutes) that explore the dark side of humanity.
Into the Dark will provide year-round programming with each episode written and produced by some of the best talent in the genre and each inspired by a distinct holiday, often with social commentary woven throughout.
“We’re excited to add ‘Into the Dark’ to our offering, just in time for Mipcom,” said Mike Wald, EVP Content Strategy at SPT. “Jason Blum and the team at Blumhouse Television have created a uniquely entertaining, well-crafted series that’s true to the Blumhouse brand and which we know will provide a thrilling, thought provoking and fun escape to audiences around the world.”
“We’re pleased to be partnering with Sony Pictures Television to bring ‘Into the Dark’ to viewers globally. This anthology series, which is a first for Blumhouse, pushes the envelope in telling 12 very chilling and distinct stories. You’ll never look at the holidays the same way again,” said Jeremy Gold and Marci Wiseman, co-presidents Blumhouse Television.
