LONDON 19 July 2016 - Sony Pictures Television (SPT) today announced that it has taken a minority stake in Swedish production company Palladium Fiction.
Palladium Fiction is led by Henrik Björn, Filip Hammarström and Johan Rudolphie - the three creatives behind the mystery-noir drama Jordskott, which won Sweden’s prestigious Kristallen award for Best TV Drama last year. Palladium Fiction will focus on high-end international dramas, with SPT distributing around the globe.
For Sony, the investment continues to build on its strategy to expand its global drama footprint to meet the high demand for top quality drama around the world.

Collectively, Henrik, Filip and Johan have a distinctive voice that is edgy, thought-provoking and entertaining. Their talents are evident in their ambitious development slate and we look forward to helping them build on their success.”
Palladium producer Filip Hammarström said: “Sony is outstanding creatively and makes a fantastic business partner with a strong international production and distribution network that will help us maximise opportunities as we expand our global reach.”
Writer and film director Henrik Björn added: “This is a really exciting time for original quality drama. We are driven by our love of storytelling and we hand pick projects close to our heart. This collaboration with Sony gives us the tools to create compelling stories for viewers worldwide.”
Palladium Fiction is in development on a second season of Jordskott with Swedish broadcaster SVT. They currently have three other projects in development including a new project in partnership with Jimmy Desmarais, the producer of high-profile French dramas such as The Returned and Last Panthers.
