Richard Burrus is executive vice president, U.S. advertiser sales strategy for Sony Pictures Television (SPT). He oversees the process of maximizing revenue for all of SPT's ad sales businesses in both first-run and off-network programs. His work has included forecasting current and future revenues for existing SPT properties such as The Dr. Oz Show and Seinfeld.
Previously, Burrus served as the studio's first senior vice president, advertising sales strategy in 2002. In this key role, he spearheaded long-term planning and analysis designed to enhance Sony Pictures Television's (SPT) position in the overall marketplace as it pertains to advertising sales for first-run and off-network product. Burrus joined the company in 1997 as vice president, advertising sales.
From 1993 to 1997, he worked for Court TV as manager, New York sales. Burrus began his career at CBS in network sales and later accrued more experience as an account executive and eastern sales manager for Black Entertainment Television (BET).
He graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL with a BA in business administration.
